Marriage records: search example

I searched for a long time to figure out what had happened to my grandfather's cousin, John. He disappeared from census records at about age 18 and I wasn't sure if that meant that he had moved or something else had happened. It was through church records of his sister's wedding that I found out that he was alive in 1906. This narrowed down his disappearance to between 1906 and 1910. I then used death records and found out that he died in 1908.

Here is an example of marriage records. The underlined entry is for Mathew Burns and Delilah Cummins. The names of her parents are shown.
